MAGIC Speaker Series Presents “Creating Games” with Brian Burger
Burger, a game developer from Burgee Media and the creator of Erenshor, will talk about creating the “single-player RPG with the soul of a classic MMO” and his experience with the MAGIC Community Incubator Program in the Sklarsky Glass Box Theater.
Creating a game takes more than a development team. This talk will explore how communities—from online players to close friends—shape games in unexpected ways.
▶ EXHIBITOR FLOOR (12 PM – 5 PM)
New and upcoming projects from MORE THAN 50 EXHIBITORS from across New York State will be on display on the Exhibitor Floor in our biggest event ever!
▶ COSPLAY CONTEST (1 PM)
Come in Cosplay! A Cosplay Contest for children ages 12 and under will begin at 1:00 PM. Cosplay outfits must be family-friendly and no weapons are allowed. The winner will receive a prize from The Strong Museum of Play!
▶ WORKSHOP – Make a Game (2 PM – 3 PM)
Learn the basics of game design by making your very own game! No experience is required for this beginner friendly workshop. Use our premade templates to create either a 2D Platformer, a Top-Down Shooter, a First Person Maze, or a Racing Game. Please stop in at any time!
▶ MERCHANDISE TABLE
Stop by the RGF Merchandise Table for a chance to score a great ROC Game Fest 2025 T-Shirt ($15) or Poster ($5). We will also have a limited number of Retro Posters ($5) available as well!
▶ TRAVELIN’ TOM’S COFFEE TRUCK
Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will be serving up fresh coffee, cold brews, teas, and more to keep you powered while you play during the entire festival. And if you need food badly, stop by the RITZ Cafe, Brick City Cafe, Nathan’s Soup & Salads, or Ben & Jerry’s at the Student Alumni Union next door.
